The School-Sport Climate Survey is intended to help coaches quickly and easily get a sense of players feelings and reactions to several of the dynamics that make for a positive athletic experience. The survey should be taken 3-4 weeks into season (annually) to help the coaching staff and players build a positive environment that promotes constructive player development.

Grounded in the School Sports STAR Model (developed by athletes) this survey assess athletic climate based on five critical factors: physical wellbeing, team support, school immersion, emotional wellbeing, coaching support, and personal core.

* This survey has two different formats: college sport and high school sport. It can be customized further to meet institutional/team needs.

Coaches, ever wonder why you “click” with some athletes, and with others it seems to be a constant struggle? Our research shows that players have unique and distinct profiles that shape how they receive and process coaching information. This assessment will highlight individual and team preferences, so that coaching methods can be adapted to achieve best outcomes.

The goal of Athlete Coaching Preference Profile is performance acceleration through preference alignment between athlete & coach. Ultimately, this preference profile assessment is meant to promote conversation between athlete and coach as a step in strengthening the coach-athlete partnership, increasing the effectiveness of the relationship and optimizing athletic outcomes. Athletes should complete this assessment during pre-season or within the first few weeks of season for best results.
